None of them is an estimate, and there is no industry average here, because we do not have one that carries a source.

What You Are Buying at Each Price
The rows in the table above are different products, not different opinions about one price. An add-on is booked into an appointment you are already paying for, so it is priced as extra time rather than as a visit. A standalone appointment is the exfoliation on its own, and it is the row the most clinics publish — when a price list shows a single dermaplaning figure and nothing else, this is usually the one it means. A dermaplaning facial is a full facial built around it, with the cleanse, mask and extractions that implies. Price lists do not always say which they are quoting, so it is worth asking before you book.
How These Figures Were Produced
These come from published price lists on clinic websites — not from a survey, an industry report or an average of other people’s averages. A figure is used only when the page names the treatment and prints the amount. One business counts once no matter how many prices it lists or how many locations it runs, and a row is published only when at least eight independent businesses stand behind it. Member rates, package totals, promotional pricing and struck “was/now” prices are excluded, because none of them is what a first-time visitor pays. The range beside each median is the middle 80% of what clinics publish, and both ends of it are amounts a real price list actually prints.
One inference is ours and is worth naming: almost none of these price lists says what the money is per, because dermaplaning is one procedure sold once and there is nothing to say. Where a clinic states no unit we read the price as one treatment. Where a clinic does state a unit — a month, a package — we leave it alone and the row does not appear here.
What Affects the Price of Dermaplaning
- Whether it is booked as an add-on or as its own appointment — the single biggest difference in the table above, and the one most price lists make you read carefully.
- Whether the appointment is a dermaplaning facial — cleanse, mask and extractions around the exfoliation — rather than the exfoliation alone.
- Promotions and packages. The figures above deliberately exclude member rates, package totals, 'starting at' floors and struck 'was/now' prices, because none of them is what a first-time visitor pays.
- What a clinic counts as one appointment. Some price lists publish a duration beside the price and some do not, and among those that do, the prices behind this page do not line up neatly with length — a 45-minute session at $75 and a 30-minute session at $95 are both in the standalone row.
Ways to Save on Dermaplaning & Financing Options
- New-patient specials & seasonal promos. First-visit discounts and holiday offers are common — check current med spa deals before you book.
- Packages & memberships. Buying treatments in a package or joining a monthly membership usually lowers the per-visit price versus paying a la carte.
- Financing plans. Many clinics accept third-party financing such as CareCredit or Cherry, or offer in-house payment plans that spread the cost over months.
- Insurance & HSA/FSA. Dermaplaning is elective and cosmetic, so it is generally not covered by insurance or eligible for HSA/FSA funds.
